Description
10/8/11, Lincoln, NE. NU enters a new era as we host the powerhouse Buckeyes in our inaugural Big 10 home game. NU struggles desperately on both sides of the ball during the first half which ends with the Buckeyes on top 20-6. Things look even darker when fans look at the scoreboard half way through the third quarter and read 27-6 and the Buckeyes have the ball. Then Bam!, lightening strikes in the form of Lavonte David as he pounces on a brief opportunity to snatch the ball out of the QB's hands. Two plays later Taylor Martinez scampers into the end zone from 25 yards out and the slumbering red giant awakes. Moans turn to cheers for the next 90 minutes as NU scores 28 unanswered points, gains over 300 yards, and shuts down OSU's offense to record the biggest come-from-behind victory in NU history, 34-27. The win marks NU's first in the Big Ten, coach Pelini's first against his alma matter, and sets the tone for the second half of the 2011 season! DVD video, 107 minutes, radio play-by-play for audio. Truly a collectors item.
